1. Introduction

Seam ("the App", "we", "us") is operated by an individual developer registered in Georgia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the Seam application.

By using Seam, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Who We Are

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Account Data

• Name
• Email address
• Password (stored in encrypted form via Supabase Auth)

3.2 Profile Data

• Gender
• Date of birth
• Height and weight
• Body measurements (waist, chest, hips)

3.3 Health & Lifestyle Data

You voluntarily enter the following data:

• Food diary entries (descriptions, photos, meal types, hunger levels)
• Water and hydration records
• Sleep records (duration, quality, energy levels)
• Physical activity records
• Mood entries
• Body measurements over time

3.4 Apple HealthKit Data

If you connect Apple Health, we access and store:

• Step count and daily activity
• Workout sessions (type, duration, calories, heart rate)
• Sleep analysis
• Heart rate and resting heart rate
• Heart rate variability (HRV)
• Active and resting energy expenditure
• VO2 max

HealthKit data is used exclusively to provide the App's features. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

3.5 FatSecret Data

If you connect your FatSecret account via OAuth, we access:

• Your food diary entries from FatSecret (food names, portions, calories, macronutrients)

We do not access your FatSecret password. Connection is made through the official FatSecret OAuth 1.0 protocol.

3.6 Food Photos

Photos you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage (Supabase Storage) and are used solely to provide AI-powered food analysis.

3.7 Technical Data

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• Anonymous usage data for debugging and performance improvement

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the App's core features
• Analyze your lifestyle patterns and generate AI-powered insights
• Display your data history and trends
• Enable specialist access if you choose to connect with a health specialist
• Ensure account security

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising purposes
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your HealthKit data for purposes beyond the App's core features

5. AI Processing

Seam uses AI to analyze your food photos and lifestyle data. This processing involves:

• Google Gemini API (Google LLC) — for food photo analysis and document analysis. Data sent to Gemini is processed according to Google's privacy policy and data processing terms.
• Anthropic API — for AI assistant features within specialist sessions.

Data sent to AI services is limited to what is necessary for the specific feature. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

7. Specialist Access

If you choose to connect with a health specialist through Seam:

• Your specialist can view your lifestyle data that you have authorized them to access
• You can revoke specialist access at any time from your Profile settings
• Specialists are bound by their professional confidentiality obligations

8. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the European Union
• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Access to your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) — you can only access your own data
• Food photos are stored in private cloud storage and accessed only through secure signed URLs

9. Data Retention

• Your data is retained as long as your account is active
• If you delete your account, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Some anonymized aggregate data may be retained for service improvement purposes

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — export your data from the App
• Correct your data — update your profile at any time
• Delete your data — request account deletion (see Section 11)
• Restrict processing — contact us to limit how we use your data
• Data portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

11. Account and Data Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data:

1. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the App
2. Or send a request to hello@seamed.app with the subject "Data Deletion Request"

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion via email.

12. Children's Privacy

Seam is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@seamed.app and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
